This is the age of the "Runner".
These past years the “Runners” experienced a great renaissance. Initially the job of a quick information transmitter, in either crowded streets with lots of traffic or in wartimes, when electrical means of communication were often targeted by the enemy, the modern “Runner” is a collective noun for indiviuals running jobs in the guts of the large mega-cities of the Sector. Though very prominent and integrated into the collective culture in Shiguen Federation space, they can be found in almost every large metropolis of the Splash Nebula. Though often considered criminal, and associated with gang-culture, the “Runners” actually are, in most cases, legal contractors of a paying client.
The term is inspired by ancient earth history, where names of “Edgerunner” or “Cyberpunk” were used to portray these kind of individuals. There is a vast pool of lore and media about this in the public SecNet library.
Scientists even claim, these works of art, are the roots of many phrases and words we are using to this day.

This is footage of a drone captured in the denser clouds of the outer layers of Jerusalem in the Chippox-System. It is not yet confiremd to be real, but it suggests the existence of “space-whales”, really is a fact we need to adapt to. We will let you know if we can verify the material.

These are the first pictures of the battle over Devon, and it seems (shown on the left), right before the offensive began, a large fleet of destroyers and cruisers of [ASU] navy forces, joined the United Sol Empire capital fleet, engaging at their side the strike fleet of [ORCA]. It is not clear, at this point, what exactly did lead to this unexpected partnership or if it is even just a loose, temporary affiliation, but it is clear, this changes the dynamic in the fringe wars dramatically.

[USE] STRIKES BACK
After the devious and cruel attack on Devon, the entirety of the [USE] 2nd capital fleet entered Thorfin-System on the 10th of march 3890. With a major strike-fleet of [ORCA] currently in orbit of Devon the battle will eventually take place there.
This is probably the start of the great counter offensive, which was stated to come, multiple times by fleet admiral Jeremy King of the 2nd capital fleet. The massive technological and logistical challenges are supported by the Polyeid-Navy-Depot.Â
Even before that battle has started historians of the aclaimed Kansas-Military-Academy, render the efforts as genius and brilliant performance by the commanding officers, hinting at the tactical flawless arrangement of the multi-fleet-jump, that allowed the whole battle contingent to arrive in Thorvin at once in a relative tight space.
New drug “Snuff” on the rise. The highly addictive synth-drug is currently flooding the underbellies of the major cities of Shiguen Federation territory. Some argue the ongoing conflict with [CSM], which lately showed its most disturbing face, might be the cause for many Shiguenees to get into drugs. The dangers of Snuff are deceptively subtle in the early stage of addiction, but potentiate in later stages. Last year alone roughly 19% of OD-related deaths in Shiguen territory, were evidently from Snuff, with experts claiming a steep rise in cases during even the first three months of this year. City polices and security forces react with much more legal pressure on (drug related) criminals.
Kabuki South Market is in turmoil, following the execution of “Bane”, evidently the younger brother of the notorious “Red Fangs”-leader, known as “Sankou-Sama”. Citizens barricade themselves in their apartments expecting a wave of violence in the streets, as the Red Fangs have sworn vengeance.Â

Officials state they do not expect [CSM] to be suicidal enough to dare enter [USE] territory, but they are currently dealing with a significant refugee crisis, after Manila has been seperated from the rest of Shiguen Federation controlled space. This would pose considerable threat in form of enemy agents that use these refugees to hide betweenin order to enter the territory. [USE] executives promised to use full force to keep assailants out of their territory. Shiguen Federation diplomats criticized this behaviour as they fear [SHIF] civilians might fall victim to this rigorous strategy. They continue to plea for more considerable help in form of military support, to stop what most experts claim to be an unstoppable act of conquering the [SHIF] territory by [CSM]. [USE] officials continue to put off their allies by pointing out the massive efforts in the fringe wars. But the number of high ranking politicans and MilTec officials, who call for action in the Shiguen vs Magellan conflict, are rapidly growing, latest surveys suggest. The pressure on [USE] continues to rise.
